Attention WebSphere Portal Users

Ugh.

It seems that not a day goes by that I don’t hear from someone running WebSphere Portal wanting to do performance testing.  And not a day goes by that I don’t shake my head at how simple a process it is.

Now – for the uninitiated, performance testing Portal apps has traditionally been really really hard.  Portal’s dynamic caching mechanism causes real havoc for performance testers – it’s a data correlation nightmare.   Spending days to get a test to simply run was not unheard of…However, as of early this year, the job got significantly easier.  IBM Rational Performance Tester was optimzed for WebSphere Portal testing – effectively reducing script development times from days to minutes.

Anyways – long story short – Performance Tester kicks ass when it comes to WebSphere Portal testing, and I’ve been working hard to get the word out, but there’s just too many people to tell…sooo….consider yourselves edumacated…Performance Testing Portal Apps is now possible…
